Description
Looking Glass Rock is a pluton formed by underground volcanic activity. Plutons are great masses of molten rock that have harden under the earth's surface where centuries of erosion have exposed the rock and shaped it into the familiar dome we see today. This rock feature looks like it is made of glass when the sun sometimes shines on the wet or icey rock surface in season. The rododenrons in front are sometimes called "roadies" by the locals.
